Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
Deferred Felony
I got into trouble back in 2002 for theft of around 4k. I was given a deferred felony and 1 year of c/s. i completed everything and now i'm seeking a career change. I see jobs saying if a person has a felony they won't be permitted to apply. Does having a deferred felony count as that and that means I can't apply?

Re: Deferred Felony
Good news for you. A straight felony means you can't do much of anything. BUT a deferred felony means you can (once all conditions are met) petition the Court to seal the record... meaning employers would not see it (unless you are applying for a law enforcement job.
