deferred sentence

Hello, I am about to land a high paying job with a TV Network, but I am worried about my deferred sentence. I am not done with the ''sentence'' yet, I still have a year left, Will that show up in a background check? its a fellony for theft, but the case will be dismised in a year. thank you

Until the deferred is completed, the felony will show as a conviction. Once the deferred period is up, and the charge dismissed, it will show that you were charged with a felony, bit it is "dismissed." It sounds like what you need is for the Court to dismiss the felony early. If you have all steps done, the court may be convinced to terminate early. In order for this to happen we need to show that you are now a good person. We would need the DA to agree as well.

It will show as plead to or as a guilty plea, but without a conviction. This will mean little to any background check other than conviction. You need to explain it. It will remain on your record until you have it sealed from public view. This cannot happen until the d/s is over.
