Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
Dropping Charges
6 years ago my daughter took one of
my checks, made it out to herself
and signed my name. We reported it
to the bank and there is now a
warrant out for her in Colorado. I am
now trying to help clear this from her
record. She was 16 at the time and
she's now 22. She hasn't lived in
Colorado since, but cannot return
because of this. If I can have the
charges dropped will this be cleared
from her record? I think I can drop
the forgery charge because that's
from me, but there is a theft charge
from the bank. Will I be able to have
the bank drop that charge? (Amount
was under $400)

Re: Dropping Charges
If there has not been a conviction, you need to work a resolution that is seal-able for purposes of cleaning her record. Who was the victim? Was it just you, or did the bank also incur a loss? In what court is the case?
You may not need the bank to drop the charge. If you do, expect to make them whole at the time of the request to drop.
