Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

drug parephenalia ticket

Two days ago I was cited for a small marijuana pipe in Colorado on I-25. No marijuana or any other drugs were found. My ticket shows ''drug parephenalia'' and a court date in June. I would like to simply pay a fine by mail and get it over with. I cannot drive 1500 miles for a court date next month. Can I get a lawyer to represent me? What would be the total estimated cost? (lawyer+court+fines) Thanks.

Aaron

Re: drug parephenalia ticket

The estimate depends on where the ticket was issued. Denver Metro - probably about $650 total. If there a lot of driving involved, then more, if not, then possibly less.

By the way, if there was marijuana or other residue in the pipe or some other indicia that it is drug paraphenalia, then the state can convict you.
