Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
Drugs
I heard having any amount of cocaine is a felony. Is this true? How much until the punishment is moved to distribution?

Re: Drugs
correct. For distribution, there is no specific amount, but there must be some proof of distribution, i.e. scales, baggies, division into specific amounts, large amounts (such as kilos or ounces).
Re: Drugs
Yes; punishments increase at more than a gram, when distribution is presumed.
Re: Drugs
any amount of cocaine is a felony in Colorado - at 25 grams, there is mandatory sentencing to prison - if a deadly weapon is anywhere near the drug, then mandatory prison - if it is near a school or in public housing, eligible for mandatory prison
do not consent to a search, do not tell the cop that you have cocaine - best to say nothing but "I want a lawyer"
