Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

Right of due process

I was charged with Domestic Violence 3rd degree assult and Child abuse on Dec.5,2007. I have applied for a public defender in jail and was granted an attorney. I have only met with him once at my last court hearing. I am scheduledfor a 4th pre-trial conference on March 13th,2008 because the attorney still did not have my discovery. How long can this legally go on? what are my rights to Due Process and a speedy trial?

Re: Right of due process

In Colorado, there is a statutory speedy trial requirement. You must be tried within six months of the entry of a "not guilty" plea. I wonder whether you have actually entered a not guilty plea. Asking for a pre-trial conference is not the same.
