My ex-spouse was convicted of child abuse against one of our children. Can I recoup the costs I had associated with the visitation/custody issues caused because of his conviction?

If it has not been 90 days since the conviction, you should contact the prosecution and get those included in a restitution order from the conviction. If it has been too long (or a restitution order was not preserved), those costs sound like actual damages that should be included in a civil suit.
