It matters if this FTA comes in the pre-trial stage or pre-arrignment. Was a warrant issued? Search or arrest? Are you post-arrestst? Post-trial? Post-conviction? pre or post sentencing?

The path to jail is still likely but there is a difference in how it's handled: (a)you get arrested on the street, dragged to jail, wait two days until you see a judge, then get bond set; OR (b)cops get a phone call from your lawyer to set things up, you turn yourself in at a pre-determined time at a pre-determined place, bond is already set, you have a bondsman waiting when you get to jail. Result (b) is only for people who get help in advance. Result (a)is the "usual path" for people who don't plan.
