Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

false testimony

I was in an emergency hearing against my ex husband. He supplied a letter from his coworker on company letter head that stated I called him at his job 20 times a day, i harrassed him at work. All the allegations are completely false. What recourse do I have against this person and can the company held liable also because she used their letterhead.

Re: false testimony

Statements made in court, or supplied for a courtroom hearing, are immune from civil charges of libel or slander. However, a person who gives false testimony may be charged criminally with perjury.

If your "emergency hearing" against your ex-husband is to get a restraining order against him, it sounds like you don't want to talk with him anyway, so maybe the best thing you can do is forget about the whole thing, NOT call him at work or anywhere else, and get on with your life.
