Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
Felony Espungement
It has been six years since I pleaded guilty to a petty felony for theft, or as they have as larceny. Can I get my record espunged? I need this for job purposes. I have done alot of things that have changed my life, like College and the only thing holding me back is this conviction that shows up. I also wanted to know if there is a time period that this record remains available to other parties if I am unable to get it espunged. Please help with any information.

Re: Felony Espungement
In Colorado, Juvenile records can be expunged, adult records can be sealed. The results are similar. If a juvenile, Colorado law allows you to expunge a conviction 5-10 years after the sentence is served. For adult records, you can seal any case in which you were acquited or charges were dismissed. If your guilty plea was to a deferred, you may be able to seal it once you complete all requirements of the deferred.
