Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
Forgery
I forged a doctors excuse note, to take some time off work, I lost my job but am afraid what the Clinic's legal department will do.
Could they file a criminal suit against me?

Re: Forgery
there is a 2nd Degree forgery that is a class 1 misdemeanor that could fit that description, but it is unlikely to get to that point. It sounds like you have been punished enough by losing your job. Unless there are some facts that I do not know about, I doubt you would be charged. Your job will not file charges because they took care of it in-house. The doctor's office could, but how would they know about it. Why would they care?
