Credit Card Fraud, Identity Theft in WI

Even minor usage of another person's credit without permission in WI constitutes felony "identity theft," exposing a defendant to long prison sentences, even if the amount stolen is as little as one dollar. I am not aware of the penalties in Colorado since I am a WI lawyer. However, it is often possible that any fraud which crosses state lines could be charged by authorities in either or both states, or could lead to federal charges (which are generally far more grave that state charges). You brother in law therefore is in immediate need of an experienced criminal laywer. My comments here are not intended as legal advice unless I am subsequently retained on the case in question.
