Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
Hiring a new attorney after
I was recently sentenced, be=ut I don't feel that I got very good representation. I was trying to contact other attorneys before my sentencing, but was told I were have to tell my current attorney. I was never able to make contact eith her. I have now been sentenced. Would I be able to hire a new attorney for this case even though I have already been sentensed?

You are right to be concerned... there are fewer things you can do after sentencing. You can hire/fire counsel whenever you wish. There are still things you can do with a new attorney, but the chances of success are slight.

You can hire -- and fire -- an attorney at your pleasure.
