Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
identity theft
I just found out today that someone gave my name as their own after being arrested and charged with perjury, DUI, driving withour a license, and no insurance 12 years ago. the only reason I found out was because someone ran a background check on me today. How do I get these charges off my record?

Re: identity theft
It doesn't seem likely that these are on YOUR record. There are thousands of people with the same name. If someone gave the police your name, then there may be a record with that name, but its highly unlikely that it would have your height, weight, addresses and date of birth. If you still think that there they are on there, look at the report and see who generated it and see if you can simply contact them for the procedure. There is a way in SC of doing an expungment, but not for the offenses you have mentioned.
