I don't have a boyfriend, but if I did, I think it would be at least unwise.

it is arguably careless or reckless driving, but I would not want to suggest that you should not do it.

As for careless/reckless, it may matter whether the one driving is the giver or the givee. It would be interesting to see how the stopping officer would write this up.
