how long can one be kept in jail on a probation violation before seeing a judge?

If you were arrested without a warrant, you are supposed to be brought "without unnecessary delay" before a judge. Although it is up to the court to define that time period, usually that means within two court days. So that may mean, for example, that if you were picked up Friday evening, you might not see a judge till Tuesday.
