Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
IRS escort sting
I recently found out about an escort agency where lists of clients and all documents have been secured by IRS agents (feds). I had received a service from this agency a week or two before it was busted but the investigation was going on for a couple of years. I used it that one time and paid cash. There may have been tape or video and I have no idea if I am on it. I have not been contacted and am one of hundreds on the list including athletes, judges, lawyers, etc... Will this list be open to the public? Will I be contacted? Even arrested? Ashamed

Re: IRS escort sting
It is highly unlikely that you have anything to be concerned about. The IRS enforces the tax code, not the criminal laws, and they are usually interested only in taxes on income, not the source of legal income. They do not publish lists of anything. The investigation and the results of it may be public, but probably no names other than the owners/operators. This answer assumes federal involvement only, and is not directed toward Colorado law. You should consult a local attorney if you have further questions or concerns.
Re: IRS escort sting
This sounds more like a tax sting than a sex sting, assuming the service you used was something other than walking your dog. If you paid cash, I'm guessing you used an alias like Long John something-or-other. It is immensely unlikely that you will ever be contacted by anyone about this, except maybe a doctor if you're unlucky. Don't be so hard on yourself: our weaknesses are what make us human.
You don't happen to have a list of those judges, by any chance?
