Can you be forced by the police to take a lie detector test? Are the results submissable in court?

Re: Lie Detectors

No, they cannot force anyone to take a lie detector test. It canot be used in court. But any statements made by the person taking the test can be used in court, so my advice is to politely decline the test. and make no statements whatseoever to the police or anyone except an attorney. Good luck.

Re: Lie Detectors

YES and YES. The SOMB requires defendants to take polygraph tests. If you refuse, you can spend the rest of your life in prison. Any admissions you make while taking a "lie detector" test CAN be admitted in court and used against you. Some will argue (politicians, DAs and other lawyers) that you are not FORCED to take the test. You can take the test or spend the rest of your life in prison. "See, it's a choice." It doesn't look that way to me.
