Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

A Lie

A lie was told about 24 yrs.ago.& my son has paid & paid for it. now he's paying again. he does something to go to jail & then they (court) bring up this old case & the sentence is harder on him. we don't have money to find out what to do .or how to do it.can you help me or suggest someone, does anyone ever do pro bono? thank you

If he does not presently qualify for the Public Defender, call the CO Bar Association and ask for list of criminal defense lawyers who do pro bono work. Solicit the opinion of three of them. Good luck. Remember, prior felonies enhance the sentence on current felonies, so don't expect too much.

If he needs a lawyer for free, we already provide that through the public defender. Apply there. Also, alot of us (including me) take cases where we are appointed because the public defender has a conflict of interest. HOW to apply: he can contact the public defender from jail. If he is no longer in jail, take a bus to their office.
