Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
Mandatory Protective Orders
If someone receives a mandatory protective order against them for the arrest of felany menacing can they still file a civil restraining order against someone? Or do they have to wait until the criminal proceedings have concluded?

No - a civil restraining order can be filed for and recieved regardless of criminal protective orders. The criminal orders only last as long as the court has jurisdiction, but the civil order will last indefinitely.
