Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
marijuana cultivation
The police wanted me to think about turning someone in, in exchange they would drop my charges. I don't know anyone (not that I would turn someone in anyway), and I suppose to turn myself in tomorrow for formal charges. I cannot afford an attorney, and I wondering what's going to happen tomorrow. Do I need to do or know anything that can help me? They caught me with 13 medium to large plants and 23 clones. I do not have a crimal background; so should I request a pretrial drug diversion or should my court appointed lawyer handle that? It's weird because I didn't tell anyone about the room. They said they got a tip, then survalliance for a week or two. They dug through my trash and also found empty baggies with coke residue on them. I told them that friends at poker games did them, as I do not do coke (the truth). I just want to know what to expect and the best way to handle myself. Thanks David

Re: marijuana cultivation
Ask for a continuance of your arraignment so that you may apply for a public defender. Say nothing about your case to anyone, other than you want a lawyer and cannot afford one.
Good luck.
