Meth Lab Property Rights

Recently, a friend of mine's house was raided as a suspected meth lab. The house is boarded up, and there are signs on the doors saying ''Must vacate'' and ''Do not enter'' etc. due to possible contamination. The house is in a seedier neighborhood and my friend has a lot of nice things. (His house has already been broken into twice) I don't want to break any laws, but my friend will be bonding out soon and he is naturally concerned for his posessions. Am I OK to remove items from OUTSIDE the house (at his urgent pleas) in order to secure them from theft? (for example, his boat, building materials, tools, etc.?) He has been calling and begging me to bring whatever items of value I can get from outside the house and take them to his storage locker down the road. I'm happy to help him out, but I don't want to catch a charge for it. He hasn't been convicted of anything, so can the police legally prevent me from simplly securing his property so that he doesn't lose it to thieves?

You mean, to other thieves? Meth dealers steal lives. It's likely his property is the subject of an asset forfeiture action. There are no property rights in a meth lab.

My advice to you is to stay well away from the place, let your friend take care of his stuff because he's bonding out soon anyway, and consider finding new friends with nicer hobbies.
