minor commits a crime
If a 12 year old child is involved in a crime where another child is hurt and the parents sue for damages and the parents of the 12 year old child are divorced, who has to pay?

Either or both of you, depending on whether your child lives solely with you, partly with you, or only with your divorced spouse. According to Colorado Statute 13-21-107, your child must have knowingly caused the injury to the other child, and your shared liability (if custody is shared) is limited to the actual damages up to $3500.
