Misdemeanor shoplifting
will misdemeanor shoplifting appear on a background check? if arrested and not convicted? is there anyway for the arrest record to not have it show?

If there is no guilty ples, no guilty verdct, you can seal it so the record won't come up on a check (unless you are applying to be a cop or a lawyer).

The record may appear. If the charge is dismissed, you may apply immediately to seal the arrest record. If convicted, you may seal it after 10 years, assuming no further convictions.
