Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

neighbor calls every time we have a party. i own my house and like once every six months we like to have a get together but this neighbor calls the police every time. they have come out like 4 times in the last seven years and now i got a ticket for loud music again during a birthday party for my husband. no warning no nothing just a ticket for distrubing the peace. what should i do about this naggy neighbor? cant i beat this charge in court?

next time you have a party, call the police and tell them you are having a party and that you do not want to violate noise restrictions - ask them to come out and help you keep things at a reasonable level - stay at that level

Do not plead guilty. Have a trial. Insist on a jury. Pay the jury fee. You will likely lose at trial, especially if you go pro se, but you might feel better by subpoenaing your neighbor and cross examing them. Put the city to its proof. Make them prove it to the jury beyond a reasonable doubt. If you plead guilty, they don't have to prove anything. You will be best off if you get a lawyer.
