Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

The one question nobody wants to answer for me!!

The drug task force for the area that I live in served a search warrant for my residence in September of 2005. My question is How do I go about getting the affidavad for the search warrant. I know that a lawyer is supposed to be the only one that is able to obtain this information but at this present time I'm unable to raise the funds to retain a lawyer. Thanks

Once the case is filed in court, the district attorney is supposed to make discovery available to the defense. I would contact the DA and ask for discovery. Be prepared to pay a reasonable fee (25/page).

The affidavit or at least the entire investigation prior to the affidavit should be in there. If not, tell the judge your problem and the judge should order it. Cite Criminal Rule 16(Part I),(b),(1) that says this should be available within 20 days of filing of charges or first appearance.
