Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

Receipt of stolen goods

At age 18, my husband received a charge of receipt of stolen property, or he says, theft by receiving, in CO. The property was a Vespa motor scooter. I know that there are limitations to the kinds of jobs one can hold if charged with larceny, do the same limits hold to this charge? And what are they?

Thanks

Re: Receipt of stolen goods

It is not a charge which interferes with employment, it is a conviction. Conviction of a felony causes the loss of certain rights including the right to vote, to hold public office, to possess a firearm, to be bonded, to do jury duty, to be a notary public, etc.

Conviction of any felony, no matter the underlying facts, results in the same loss of these rights.

Many employers won't hire a convicted felon, no matter the nature of the felony.
