Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

reckless endagerment

In early July one of my friends and I were discussing trading guns, we were also having a few beers. My roommate was in the room with us and said nothing to us that night. The next day I had a confrontation over the with the landlords who called the police and came to the house. My roommate told the police about the night before and they told her she had to file a complaint or she would be held liable, then they told me I had to show them the guns, that they were only going to write down the serial #'s. They then confiscated the weapons telling me I would get them back after the first court date. I talked to the DA who said I had to surender the weapons, so I plead not guilty. I now live in, and go to school in, CA, and can not afford to go back to CO for the trial. I requested a continueation which was denied. What should I do? Can the officer be held accountable for the false information?

Re: reckless endagerment

If you don't go back for the trial, a warrant will be issued for your arrest, and you will forfeit any bond. The officer won't be held accountable.
