reconsideration letter
A friend of mine is in El Paso County Detention on a violation of probation charge. How long must he be in detention before a reconsderation letter can be submitted to the judge fr a earlier release.

It's not "how long". A motion to reconsider sentencing MUST be filed soon. Bring it under R. Crim. P. 35(b). That rule requires the motion be filed NO LATER THAN 120 days from the entry of judgment.
