What looks better on your record as far as employment? To have a deffered misdeameanor assault charge or a guilty disorderly conduct charge?

It truly depends upon the employer.
In general, a successfully completed deferred sentence will look better than a conviction. Be aware that while you are on the deferred sentence, a lot of employers and government agencies will treat it as a conviction.
