How do you get an out of control and dangerous drug addict submitted into a facility or rehab center against his will?

If you believe he is an immediate danger to himself and/or others, and a psychiatrist believes he is suffering a major mental illness due to the drugs or other causes, you can ask for a police welfare check.
If a police officer, upon investigation, reasonably believes the addict needs psychiatric evaluation, the addict may be taken against his will to a facility for an emergency psychiatric evaluation. If the crisis worker there and an on-call psychiatrist believe it warranted, the addict may then be held for 72 hours against his will for a more complete evaluation.
