Restitution not paid, what recourse do we have?

Hello,

In 2003 my car was stolen and luckily the individuals responsible were caught red handed. They crashed the car and were tried and convicted of the crime. They were ordered to pay restitution which I haven't seen any of in four years. What legal recourse do I have in getting my restitution ($3000 I believe) from these people? One was a minor at the time, he was 17 and would be an adult now. His parents were ordered to pay, I think. The second was an adult and he was also ordered to pay, but I've also seen nothing. Just curious.

Contact the clerk of the court where the thieves were caught with their dirty red hands on your car. If restitution was ordered as part of their probation, failure to pay would have violated their probation. Who knows, maybe these guys are still in prison polishing the warden's car.

The clerk can give you an idea of the status of the restitution order.
