Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
Restraining orders
Hello, I have been charged with Colorado 9.50.040(a)(5), I live with my best friend and he owns the house it is his brother (who does not live here) who filed the complaint, he is trying to file a restraining order on me living here. The owner of the house does not want me out, however the house is in 2 names (the second name is a different brother who also does not live here) his name is only on the paperwork from years ago to protect my friend incase of a divorce, my friend owns the house completely. Can either of the brothers file a restraining order to have me removed from this house even if the owner does not want that? He has told the police and the brothers he does not wish me to be removed, that there was just a miss understanding and he is not in any jeopardy. I am also seeking an attorney in Colorado to assist with this charge.

Re: Restraining orders
9.50.040 does not appear to be a criminal statute. At least not in Colorado state law. Perhaps you are referring to some town's municipal ordnance.
