Restraining orders
What will happen to my X-boyfriend if I put restraining order on him and he was just given a deffered sentence and also has previous DV charges from a previous relationship?

Re: Restraining orders
The deferred sentence can likely be sealed after it is fully over. A permanent restraining order cannot be sealed and will likely invoke Lautenburg and Brady. Besides, if you are the victim in the case which is deferred, then he is already under a restraining order towards you. It will last for the entire time the deferred is in place. You need not do anything, if you feel the "no harass/molest" provisions of the extant RO are sufficient.
