Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

seal records

I had a deffered judgement against me , wanted to know how to get my record sealed. I plead guilty to burglery. Did everything I was told, comm service, drug classes and my probation is over. I asked my attorney and she said it would cost $5000 for her fees to seal the record. what can i do on my own.

Check out the Colorado Courts web site, self-help section; petition and instructions for sealing records is in the criminal area.

Beware, though: it is no simple matter to be sure copies of a granted petition get to every agency that may screw you up down the line.
