Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

sealing my record

To try and ask one question out of my hundreds, is it possible to attempt sealing my record for pleading guilty to shoplifting after only one year, and if so, how would I go about it from a different state?

Re: sealing my record

If you pleaded guilty, there has been a conviction. If you pleaded under a DJS, you can seal after the deferred has run. If no DJS,you can seal in some cases after 10 yrs from the end of Ct. supervision (that is a new change to the law). The reason you have lots of questions is that Sealing-law is complicated. Unless it was a deferred sentence, or a juvenile adjudication, under current Colorado law you can't seal a conviction for shoplifting, not after one year, not after a hundred.
