Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
search warrents
Is it legal for the police to ask to come in your home based on a call they said they recieved and once in start to search? They stated they got a domestic dispute call and needed to come in and once in they said they made the call up to gain entry and said that was legal. After 8 hours of searching they got a search warrent. Is this legal? Thank You

Re: search warrents
No, it is not legal, and all evidence found as a result of that cannot be used in court against you.

Is it legal to ask? yes. Is it legal to answer "no"? You bet. Is it smart, yes. Don't open the door and invite police to enter.
