The contempt issue stems from a domestic issue, and the only way to avoid future trouble is to deal with the domestic court and attempt to modify the child support order. This can be done if there has been a sufficient change in your income. Additionally, the parties are required to report to the court every two years information in order to determine if child support should be modified.
