Re: sex offenders

You can go to your local County Clerk of Courts to find his file and review the case against him. Or, just ask him. Either way, if you find it troubling...there are many other fish in the sea.

Also, you can check PA's Megan's Law website for listed offenders to see if your boyfriend is there. He will only be there if the conviction involved minors. Good Luck!!

Re: sex offenders

You may never know what it means, but you can start by asking your boyfriend to level with you. Sometimes innocent people are convicted; usually the convicted are guilty in fact as well as in law.

A Class 4 felony conviction is likely to have involved a charge of sexual assault. It may have been pleaded down from an even more serious offense. You can find out the state's version of the truth by asking your friend where the conviction was, and contacting the police and court there. You can also find out what the conditions are of his probation.

This will be a hard time for you and for your friend, but you need to know. I wish you strength.

Good luck.
