You can contact either the district attorney or the court clerk. They should be able to give you that information. I would start with the DA, then go to the clerk. If you get no satisfation, try the sheriff's department. The most important thing is to get an attorney that is experienced in defending sex assualt cases and has sucessfully tried them. Good luck.

Call the district attorney's office, or the court.

You can call the Court Clerk for the county/district your son is being held. Typically, the charges are filed at a hearing within a few days of his arrest. These cases require competent counsel and can be won. If you cannot afford 20-50 thousand dollars, then you should get the public defender to represent him. They do a good job on these cases. Tell him not to discuss his case with anyone, even you. Only talk with an attorney. DO NOT SPEAK WITH POLICE.

The consequences are too serious to try to make decisions without a competent attorney.
