sexual offender

I was convicted of sexual intercourse without consent, In montana 1991. I got off probation on 02/03/02 And I was told That I got all my civil rights back.and did not have to regester no more.Moved to Colorado. They say I have register. and I can't go hunting or have a firearm.when I was allowed to have when I got off pprobation in Montana. Is this right

I cannot imagine that if someone told you that you got all your civil rights back, and no longer had to be supervised, that they were correct. Current Montana law holds that after release from imprisonment for a conviction of this offense, you are to be supervised for the rest of your life. The law at the time of your conviction may have been different. You need to contact a Montana lawyer to check this out.

In Colorado, there are both federal and state laws prohibiting possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. It doesn't matter that your conviction was in another state.
