Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
if a sheriff officer called to tell me. he has to give me a restraining order and a meeting was set to give me the papers. an hour later I had recieved the papers but before that time i called my son after the sheirff and i spoke and before i received the restraining orders paperwork from the sheirff

Well, if the restraining order was to prevent you from calling your son or contacting him then there could be an issue. In order for you to be in trouble: the protective order had to say you cannot call your son AND the sheriff must have told you this over the phone.
EVEN if those two things happened, you are still ok. Call the office if you want to know more.
