Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
My Son stole my family silver. It might have been two years ago. Is the a limitation for reporting it. I just wanted to polish it for the Holidays and it is gone.

You can report the theft at any time, but the crime cannot be prosecuted after a certain point (this will depend on the value of the items stolen). Further, the longer it has been, the more difficult it is for the police to gather enough evidence to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
