Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
I stole $18,940 from my employer. I was arrested and have been offered a deal that I have a felony for 2 yrs during which time I pay back the money and then it is dropped to a misdemeanor. What do I put on job applications as an explanation during the period of time that the felony is there and how will it show on my background check?

That sounds like a split plea, with a 2 year DSJ to felony theft. You are convicted of a felony until the DSJ runs, so you have to answer "yes" to questions that ask "have you been convicted of a felony?". On background checks, it will show "charged: felony theft; disposition: guilty".
