Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
I know a suspect in a capital Colorado murder case. He would be willing to come forward if he could be reassured that the death penalty could be taken off of the table. The case has gone unsolved for over a decade. If he were willing to provide evidence to solve the case and convict him could he plea bargain with his lawyer and the DA before he comes forward? The family of the victim is against the death penalty. Also could the negotiate that the sentencing be done by the judge to avoid a jury trial? Could he remain anonymous if the deal Is not approved by the DA?
