Theft less than $100 4 counts

Do I need a lawyer? What do I plead? I am already paying back the money...how could I have them drop the charges?

It is always advisable to have a criminal lawyer represent you but that decision must be yours.

A criminal lawyer can review the prosecutor's file to see if the prosecutor can successfully prove each element of each charge beyond a reasonable doubt and and then work a plea bargain including dismissal, if the lack of evidence warrants such dismissal.

I was a prosecutor and know the difference in disposition of a case with and without a criminal attorney.

The defendant's with a criminal lawyer usually got a more favorable disposition because the attorney was able to negotiate more effectively based on his or her knowledge of and experience in criminal law and showing the weaknesses and / or difficulties in proving the case.

A Theft charge is a crime of moral turpitude and can have serious consequences if you are an immigrant or you want to get a good job in the government or in reputable private or public companies. It could seriously affect your job and / or employment opportunities in the present and / or the future.

I will cost you to have a private criminal attorney but it is usually well worth it.

Without all of the facts, I cannot tell you how your cases will be resolved but I will work very hard to get the best result possible for you.
