Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
Theft - misdemeamor -felony?
My previous employer has accused me of theft for $336 for money that was missing from a deposit. Because of this I was fired. My manager told me at the time that she would put her personal money in for that amount and that I could pay her back and because of that she would not file anything with the police. I explained to her that it would be about a month before I could start paying that amount back she aggreed and gave me me last check which was over $100. This was late Dec. Two days ago I get a call from the Denver police stating that she has filed theft charges against me and that if we can get the situation resolved before monday he wouldnt process the paper work, but if not on monday a warrent would be issued for my arrest. I have tried countless times to get in contact with my previous employer in the past two days, and she will not return my calls. I was planning to pay the $336 just to get this done out of my life, but now I am not sure what to do.

Get an attorney, what the manager told you doesn't mean anything.
