Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

Theft

I don't know what is going on. Oregon is wanting me to come back to arrest me on some theft charge. They wont tell me too much but to come back. I have tried to call the DA and they never respond. Should I retain a lawyer? Go Back to Oregon?

Re: Theft

Contact whoever "they" are and press for some details, unless you already know exactly what they are for some strange reason. If the amount involved is more than $500, it couldn't hurt to have a lawyer.

If you don't like any of the above, Maine is beautiful this time of year, except for the blood-sucking black flies (though many people seem to prefer them to the blood-sucking lawyers).

Re: Theft

What you need to do is to address the warrant and get it QUASHED (if there is no reason for it). If it cannot be quashed, a plea by mail may work. If the warrant is for some serious offense you will need to arrange a surrender. The truth is that if you go to Oregon, you will be arested. Because of that, you will need to hire an attorney. I do a lot of these things.
