Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

Threatening neighbor

I asked the question below earlier but forgot this part of it. Our neighbor theatened my husband also. And, what are the consequences of theatening language toward children?

Last night my neighbor told my young children to ''keep our f%@!ng cat off of his property or he will kill it''. They obviously are scared and upset and I don't like that we spoke to them that way. What can I do to protect them and the cat and get him to leave us alone. Thanks.

Re: Threatening neighbor

you should contact the local police - threats are the crime of menacing or harassment and if neighbor harms the cat, then that is animal cruelty

likely, this can be resolved with a friendly conversation by the police

BUT-

I had a neighbor steal our cat and drop him off miles away and we never saw the cat again (no way to prove it, but . . . . ) - I would try to keep the cat inside

I know there is little way of keeping the cat from going over there, but maybe your vet or pet store can suggest something
