Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado
Hello, I got in trouble with the law about 5 years ago and made a plea for a deferred sentence. I followed through with all the things i needed to do and once i was done i was able to withdraw my guilty plea. I am about to go into a job where they do background checks and I read elsewhere that i needed to have my records sealed to have it not show up on background checks. The judge told me that i could put on job applications that i have not been convinced of a felony. I am a little concerned that i have to go and have the records sealed now or there is some other step that is involved that i was never informed of. Can you please help me ? I don't know what to do now.

Sealing the record is the other step. If the case was dismissed at the end of the probationary period, you are eligible to seal it. It should now be reported as dismissed. If you want to know how a criminal record check looks now... spend the $6 and run one yourself. Contact CBI.
